                                  I'm Standing

Community Connector - Great things happen when good people come together. Amazing results occur when you connect the dots. A natural networker, I'm passionate about creating meaningful connections for mutual benefit.

  • Co-Organizer of NowBiz - Northwest Auckland Business Network
  • Co-Organizer of Hobsonville Diwali - Bling on Point
  • Volunteer / Participant at local community events - Matariki Festival, Hobsonville Newcomers Evening, Winterfest, Blood Donation Drive

Serve. My motivation for public service is inspired by the sayings of 2 great saints: "The best way to find oneself is to lose yourself in the service of others." - Mahatma Gandhi; "In the good of others, lies our own." - Pramukh Swami Maharaj

Solve. One of the most powerful forces in the world is the collective mind. Keen to listen and learn from the community about the issues that matter to them. Then apply a servant leadership model with transparency and a result-oriented approach to finding best-fit solutions.

Hobsonville Community Leaders Meeting: lead by Auckland Emergency Management 🙏

An engaging eye-opener meeting to talk about collaboration opportunities to increase our community disaster resilience and increasing everyone's preparedness for #emergencies during us all living in abnormal normalcy.

Just in the last 12-18 months, the entire world has come to realize how critical it is to be prepared for an Emergency. EQs, natural (or manmade) disasters, weather bombs, killer viruses do not come with a warning.

 Hobsonville Emergency Network

Hobsonville Emergency preparation scenario was about helping us to understand the role of AEM & emergency services in an emergency and therefore what our role in community is not. As we move forward, the focus will be using that knowledge and understanding to help us identify what needs and gaps our community has and how to build our community resiliency.

Share. Knowledge shared is knowledge multiplied. Reaching out on a timely and regular basis to keep people informed is the key to building trust in a community. My years in communications have trained me on how to create & distribute content, and manage engagement & feedback.

Support. This is about reciprocity and giving from the heart. If you can lift / uplift / help / inspire someone - just do it! Accepting this as our way of life has been most enriching for my wife, Dee and I - incl. a Community Volunteer Services Award from Upper Harbor Local Board :)

Our life-mantra is: SERVE SOLVE SHARE SUPPORT SIMPLIFY and this Award is a reflection + recognition of all we have learnt from our parents, in-laws, family, friends, teachers, temple... "In the good of others, lies our own."

Simplify. Public service calls for acumen, discernment and a laser-focus on simplicity. The ability to de-mystify & peer through the layers to identify the heart of the matter. Simplify local governance by reducing red-tape, providing clarity of action and keeping ego out. We > Me.
